Information for Students
This page is full of information for all four of my content areas. It starts with the Rules and Requirements for the classes and a Supplies section listing what you need to be successful in my class.
I listed all four of my classes with the MISD Course Description. As the year progresses, I will list information in each category or upload files for those specific classes. On the "Download" page, I have uploaded files that are for each of my classes. On the "Links" page you can find links that I think make the lives of teachers, parents, and students a little easier. If you have a link that you think should make the list, please email me with the web address and a short description.

Teen Leadership II
Teen II, MHS '10
Course Description – Teen Leadership II Preparation, Credit 1 (Local) for Grades 11-12
Teen Leadership II is a program offered to upper level students who have successfully completed Teen Leadership I. The class involves the application of the lessons while mentoring at-risk elementary students, participating in community service, opportunities to meet and discuss with civic and community leaders about future prospects for leadership.
My Teen IIs and I partnered with the Teen II classes at Legacy HS and Summit HS this year and applied for a technology grant. "Get Ready, Get Net, Go!" won and we were awarded in November 2009. Winning this $5,000 grant will help us by purchasing technology to train 5th graders in our district on internet safety with the help of the NetSmartz 411 program. The intermediate feeder school that we will be working with is Mary Orr. We start our training in late Jan 2010 and will start working with the 5th graders by February.
On Friday, February 19th, Teen II will be participating in an international webconference about HAITI. Please view flyers and information about MAGPI. We invite you to come watch us make our international debut! UPDATE: The webconference was a huge success. We had a wonderful time! We learned so much about what everyone around the world is doing to help. We also understand that students from around the globe are exactly like us...they just look different or speak a different language. See pictures below from our amazing day. Click here to see our press release.
The pictures below [with red backgrounds] are from 2010 Family Dynamics Unit. Each boy in the class "drew" a wife and then they picked their children. They had to create a family background including how we met, education and work history, researched real estate and "fake purchased" a home in Mansfield, "fake" purchased cars, created a family budget, and etc. The pictures below are of each family. One lucky family was fake pregnant and had to deal with those issues and family costs. Thanks to the Cannon family for putting up with your "scarf" baby. :)
